This elegant Grade II listed house in a Conservation Area has been completely refurbished and modernised, in a modest manner sympathetic to the building.
One of the few visible external signs of the work is the new opening in the rear of the semi basement. This has frameless glass doors between the interior and the repaved courtyard which maximise the natural light into the family dining room. The ground floor has been carefully refurbished with new limestone and oak floors.
At first floor some non-original partitions were removed to restore the original room sizes. A new family bathroom was created and the master en-suite upgraded with simple and elegant finishes and fittings. On the second floor the layout was redesigned to provide three bedrooms and a shower room. New rooflights, invisible from the ground, flood these rooms with natural light.
The finished house is both elegant and practical and provides spacious and comfortable contemporary style in harmony with this beautiful listed house.
